Jackson CI Release Destinations

Jackson Correctional Institution is an adult male FDC prison in Malone. Its official directory lists a capacity of 1,346 and identifies Jackson Work Camp and Graceville Work Camp as satellites. A person can move from the main institution to either camp, return from a camp, or transfer to another FDC institution while the state sentence continues. None of those moves is a community release.

A true Jackson CI release may end prison custody at discharge or begin a period of state community supervision. Use the FDC Inmate Release database and compare the actual Release Date with the final Date Out-Custody. Search the supervised-population database next. If its begin date matches the release, read the recorded supervision type and current status. Traditional parole is limited in Florida, so do not use “parole” as a generic label for all post-prison supervision.

Confirm Jackson CI Release

Start with the six-character DC number. It is more reliable than a facility label because it follows a person through main-unit, satellite, transfer, release, and supervision records. Jackson CI Release Fields

FDC’s release-only database updates nightly and includes people already released or scheduled for release. That means a result can describe a future projection rather than a completed event. Include the full institution name, DC number, date range, and the exact record needed. A request for “all records” can create delay and unnecessary review, while a request for the release detail, incarceration history, or location interval is easier to identify.

Jackson CI Satellite Trap

The current FDC directory groups Jackson Work Camp and Graceville Work Camp under Jackson CI. This creates a local search trap. A record may show the parent institution in one place and the satellite name in another. The person has not left FDC merely because one facility name disappears. Check the dated location, DC number, and current population result before deciding what happened.

Graceville Work Camp is also distinct from Graceville Correctional Facility, the contractor-operated Florida prison nearby. Both confine state prisoners, and FDC’s offender network remains the public release source for both. Yet facility-specific calls or records requests must use the right name. A similar address or city does not make them interchangeable.

Jackson CI Capacity Context

It should not be used to estimate how many people left the prison or how quickly a particular release will process.

“Active” means actively supervised. “Active Suspense” can mean the person is in another jail or facility while the officer monitors status. “Absconder” is a separate status associated with unavailable whereabouts and a warrant. Call only after matching the record, since not every person released from Jackson CI will be assigned there.

Note: A same-day supervision start usually shows a transition, but the exact FDC label should be preserved in any release summary.

Jackson CI Record Conflicts

A projected date can change before release. A court document may establish sentence terms but not show the exact FDC exit. VINE may report an event after FDC updates its own file. When dates differ, identify what each date represents rather than selecting the earliest one. Keep the projection, actual Release Date, Date Out-Custody, and supervision start under separate labels.

For identity conflicts, compare the DC number, birth date, aliases, offenses, and custody history. For a substantive error, identify the precise field and send FDC the supporting order or record. A correction in a court docket does not automatically update FDC, and a facility transfer does not create a county jail record. The most reliable result keeps the source agency and custody type attached to every event.

Detainers can explain a later destination. Read the detainer and cancellation fields alongside the release history. If another authority received the person after Jackson CI, the accurate statement is that FDC prison custody ended on the recorded date. Search the receiving authority before drawing a broader conclusion about current custody.
